Multicultural volunteering tip sheets now available

Following the success of the CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) volunteering project in Hobart, including the well-attended Multicultural Volunteer Expo we held in partnership with the University of Tasmania in September last year, we have developed some short and sweet tip sheets for both CALD people seeking to volunteer and also organisations that may wish to host CALD volunteers.

We believe that volunteering is a great way to:

  • meet new people
  • have fun
  • strengthen the community
  • increase employability

Some of our tips for organisations looking to include culturally and linguistically diverse people in their volunteer program include thoughts on subjects such as taking into account important cultural mores in your workplace, offering valuable volunteer roles and tweaking your volunteer orientation package to best suit this demographic.
