National Volunteer Week 14-20 May 2012
Volunteering Australia says “The theme allows organisations to leverage it both ways. It sends a strong message to existing volunteers that they are valued and supports potential volunteers by reinforcing that every single volunteer makes an important contribution to the broader community.
National Volunteer Week is celebrated in a number of different ways, depending upon the organisations and individuals involved. Formal ceremonies, morning teas, free cinema trips, BBQs, picnics, expos, a whole range of events are held, as well as more informal events and private acts of recognition, all with the purpose of celebrating the work that volunteers do in our community and thanking volunteers for the contribution they make.
In the meantime please ensure that your planning is underway to celebrate National Volunteer Week 2012. Check out the website for ideas on how other organisations celebrate and for tips on how to maximise media exposure for your organisation and volunteers.”
