How you can help the bushfire relief effort

We have been overwhelmed by Tasmanians offering to volunteer with the bushfire relief efforts, which is fantastic! In an effort to manage the outpouring of support for those affected by the bushfires across the State, we would like to advise that we have set up a volunteer registry for those wishing to contribute to relief efforts. Emergency relief organisations currently have enough volunteers, however you can register your interest and we will keep you updated as the situation progresses if additional volunteers are needed.

Register to volunteer or browse roles HERE.

Currently we are in the fortunate position of having an excess of people volunteering their time and skills, however registering your details gives us the support we need to ensure the volunteering situation remains positive.

Emergency services are currently using volunteers trained in emergency relief to assist with fires and the clean-up, however people interested in contributing to future relief efforts are encouraged to look at volunteering in a long term position. Anyone interested in being trained with the SES, Red Cross, Salvation Army or Tasmania Fire Services is asked to also register their name and contact details. Information on those services will then be provided at a later date for potential recruitment.

Organisations requiring volunteers are encouraged to contact our Volunteer Engagement Project Officer Jemima Stagg as soon as possible – / (03) 6432 4335.

For more information please contact Jill Maxwell, State Manager / 0427 230 067

You can donate to the Red Cross appeal here.
