For volunteers

Not sure if volunteering is for you? We believe that all members of our community equally deserve the right to be included in volunteering, and experience the benefits.

Around 4 out of 5 Tasmanians volunteered in the past year, giving 7.1 million hours of their time. Volunteers from all walks of life are a vital part of every community and contribute so much to our society.

What is volunteering?

Thinking about volunteering?

Volunteering is a great way to: improve your happiness and mental health; meet people; gain skills and employability; and have fun!

Anyone can volunteer. Even if you feel like there may be some barriers preventing you from taking the step into a volunteer role, we are here to help you.

There are a few different steps you can take when you are ready to volunteer:

Volunteer Connect is a search engine for volunteer roles. You can search for positions close by, find roles by interest, or even check out which roles will fit with the amount of time you have available.

These short sessions are run by our staff in locations near you. Here, you’ll learn about what volunteering is, why you should do it, and also how to go about securing a role. Contact us and we will let you know when and where the next session near you is being held.
We have people available in our Hobart head office and in ‘Pop-Up‘ offices in Sorell and Burnie, who are expertly trained to help you find a role perfect for you. If you find it hard to access or use a computer, or would just prefer to have someone talk you through the search process, we would love to see you. This service is very popular, so you’ll need to book an appointment. You can do that by calling 6231 5550 or emailing Carers or support people are welcome to contact us on your behalf, and if you like they can even join you when we have a chat.

Do you have questions or need some help? You can always give us a call or pop in to our office. Find out how to contact us here.
