HACC Volunteer Management Project
Volunteering Tasmania has developed a project to support the volunteer management of all HACC-funded organisations in Tasmania. This project has received recurrent funding from HACC.

Promoting accountable, sustainable volunteer management
The Volunteer Management Review is an external review process for volunteer management based on the National Standards for Involving Volunteers In Not For Profit Organisations. It has been developed within the HACC Volunteer Management Project as a comprehensive new service offered to organisations to make guided improvements to their volunteer management systems.
The Volunteer Management Review is NOW AVAILABLE FREE to all Tasmanian HACC-funded organisations, and will be offered to all other volunteer-involving organisations in 2009. The summary of the review process provides an overview of how a Volunteer Management Review is conducted.

What is the HACC Volunteer Management Project
The aim of the Project is to provide support to HACC-funded organisations and their volunteers by:
- Ensuring that volunteers are involved appropriately and supported adequately
- Assisting with the implementation of Best Practice policies and procedures
- Improving the efficiency of volunteer management processes
- Ensuring the accountability of organisations involving volunteers
- Improving the recruitment and retention of volunteers within HACC services
- Contributing resources, advice and direction on volunteer management where needed
If you are a HACC-funded organisation:
- Support - The project manager is available to all HACC-funded organisations as a resource to provide advice, resource material, review etc at any time. The project manager can be contacted by email, phone or will come to you in person anywhere in the state.
- Resources - The project manager has compiled extensive resource folders on each of the National Standards. These include examples, proformas, checklists, info sheets and much more! Don't reinvent the wheel - ask for help
- Free Books! - The set of three books on the National Standards For Involving Volunteers In Not-for-Profit Organisations have been purchased with funding from the project and are being distributed to all HACC-funded organisations that involve volunteers. If you don't yet have your set of books, please contact the project officer.
The benefits of this project will flow to other organisations and programs that are not HACC-funded
- Any resources compiled or developed within the project, and the expertise of the project officer, add to the overall value of Volunteering Tasmania's services.
- The Volunteer Management Review, developed within the project, will be available as a service to the general volunteer community in 2009.
