Volunteer Connect is operated by Volunteering Tasmania Inc. and was launched in October 2009.
Volunteer Connect is about making volunteering in Tasmania EASIER and more accessible.
...EASIER for people to find volunteer vacancies and opportunities.
...EASIER for organisations to recruit volunteers.
How is this achieved?
Website and Database
At the heart of this service is a website and database which can be accessed through any computer with an internet connection.Through the website, volunteers can search for vacacies on the database and organisations can place advertisements for volunteer positions - for FREE.
Volunteering Tasmania Support Staff
Volunteering Tasmania has regional officers in the North, North West and South who will be providing support for this service.Community Access Points
Volunteering Tasmania is establishing Volunteer Connect Access Points at locations across Tasmania. Community Access Points might typically exist in a library, online access centre, PCYC or community house.At every Community Access Point there will be staff who can provide assistance and information, answer questions, give support and show you how to the use the computers and the new Volunteer Connect database.
