Are you thinking of trying out volunteering for the first time? Or perhaps you are ready to return to volunteering after a break? Find out what volunteering might mean for you by exploring the content in the above icons. You will discover a range of information from videos, fact sheets and a list of current volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer Connect Service

We also have a Volunteer Connect Service. This service connects individuals wanting to volunteer, with available volunteer roles.

This service is run by volunteers, and we had our first ‘Volunteer Connector’ commence in February 2023. The role of the Volunteer Connector involves meeting with prospective volunteers, interviewing volunteers to assess their skills, interests and availability, providing advice on current volunteering opportunities and connecting them to one of the many positions online.

You or someone you know can book in for a meeting with our Volunteer Connector by contacting the Volunteering Tasmania Office on 03 6231 5550 and by emailing team@volunteeringtas.org.au. Appointments are available on a Thursday, in person at our Hobart office, or via video call or phone.

Videos

Or perhaps you are looking for some inspiration? Why not watch the videos below which showcase volunteer stories from all corners of our state, highlighting just some of Tasmania’s amazing volunteers and their unique stories.

Volunteer Connect

Volunteer Connect is a national volunteer referral system which connects volunteers and organisations. It allows people to search for a new volunteer role and for volunteer-involving organisations to advertise for and recruit new volunteers.
