===============================================

The 2018 Volunteering Symposium was held over two days in Hobart on September 4 and Launceston on September 5.

The symposium program delivered both strategic considerations and operational know-how, with sessions delivered by local and interstate keynote speakers and thought leaders in the volunteering sector.

More than anything else, the symposium was about connection.  The purpose was to foster a stronger connection between volunteering strategy and volunteer management, to connect volunteering goals to organisational outcomes, and to connect with each other.

The symposium focused on current key issues, including gaining support within your organisation, legal challenges when managing a volunteer workforce, marketing your program to attract more volunteers and younger volunteers, new ‘disruptive’ technologies with implications for volunteer management, and success stories from the volunteering front line.
